We are proud to continue our collaboration with Paxon Hollow Middle School and the VFW National Youth Scholarship Program, Patriot's Pen, for the 2024-2025 school year!

 

Students in the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade levels have an opportunity to write an essay based on the theme "My Voice in America's Democracy?" Their essays are collected at the school and forwarded to their local VFW for panel judging. Students at each school will receive participation awards and the top three will receive awards of $100, $75, and $50 for 1st, 2nd, and third place. Also, the 1st place awardee will have their essay submitted to the District for panel judging. The student's essay has the opportunity to win a National prize of $5,000! 

 

Good luck to all the middle schoolers out there that are participating this year. Deadlines for entry are October 31, 2024.
